Any time a woman goes on a date, she is taking a risk. She is taking a risk when she gives her telephone number to a man she’s only recently met, when she gets into his car, when she invites him into her home, when she goes into his home.
It’s not the risk of having her feelings hurt or being embarrassed. It’s the risk of assault or worse, and it’s something most of us learn very early on. Yes, I know, most men are not out to hurt women, but the older we women get, the more we exprience and observe, the more aware we become of just how many men are predators. We don’t live in constant fear — but whenever we interact with a man we don’t know well, there is a heightened element of caution.
And so, I took a chance when a man approached me in a night club with a lame pick-up line. (“What’s that you’re drinking?”) I took a chance when he asked for my phone number.
We’ve been together now for almost thirty years, and I have never regretted it.

Just to play the devil’s advocate; any man who does the same things is also risking being robbed, betrayed, ID stolen, car stolen at gun point by any pretty&decent looking female too.

Women are, as a group, smaller and less physically powerful than men.
Women don’t make up well over 90% of violent sexual offenders.
Women don’t make up the vast majority of violent offenders, period.
Unfortunately, men do.
