These excerpts are obviously not going to be the equivalent of the diaries I’ve typed or handwritten. No outpourings of my soul onto a page will be included. They are attempts to capture moments, to put time in a bottle, as Jim Croce sang. I’ll try to make them interesting. That’s the least a writer can do.
